The Australian National Curriculum and Learner Dispositions

​​All teachers from Prep t​o Year 6 at St Agatha's plan, teach, assess and report using the  Australian National Curriculum and the Religious Education Curriculum approved by the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Teachers use a model of pedagogy that includes: 

  1. Focusing on learners and their learning by analysing student data.
  2. Establishing clear learning intentions and success criteria so learning is clear to students. 
  3. Activating student prior knowledge and providing students with multiple opportunities for practice as well as demonstrating their ability. 
  4. Responding to student learning with feedback that moves learning forward.
  5. Evaluating the effectiveness of the teaching and learning.

​The following curriculum learning areas are taught by general Classroom teachers: 

  • Religious Education
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) - History, Geography and Civics and Citizenship
  • Technologies - Digital and Design Technology 
  • The Arts - Visual and Media Arts 
  • Health 

 ​The following curriculum learning areas are taught by specialist teachers 

  • ​The Arts - Music, Dance and Drama ​​
  • Physical Education 
  • Language Other Than​ English - Japanese. .

In alignment with the general capabilities of the Australian National Curriculum a variety of technology is embedded with all classes.
